As a retired teacher, I miss the classroom and teaching. I love volunteering as it provides me the opportunity to teach again!
I found out about the literacy program from a friend who also enjoyed teaching. Helping students learn is very motivating!

The most rewarding part about volunteering is watching my student learn to muscle through a difficult math problem.

If someone is thinking about volunteering, I would tell the person to definitely find the time to volunteer. I volunteer in the HiSET classroom where I tutor one student with math. I enjoy my time with her tremendously.”
